General Questions

What is the TOCA Strikers program?

The TOCA Strikers program offers players ages 18 months to 8 years old their first experience with the game of soccer. What an incredible opportunity for us to introduce these young athletes to the beautiful game! It’s not just about teaching them the skills of soccer, it’s also about socialization, building confidence and providing a fun and safe environment for them to be kids! This is especially true for these younger players.

What are the class offerings?

18-36 Months: Adult Participation

This class is focused on developing gross motor skills, and foot-eye coordination. Every class provides an opportunity for free play as well as structured activities led by the Strikers Coach.

Words that describe this experience: Exploration, Imagination, Socialization, and Fun.

NOTE: Parents or caregivers are asked to participate with their child.

3-4 Years

This class introduces the fundamentals through age-appropriate soccer drills. There is a focus on teamwork through cooperative games. Activities also include: Introduction to fitness and flexibility.

4-5 Years

This class focuses on building confidence with dribbling, receiving, passing, and scoring. Activities also include: Cooperative learning games, relay races, obstacle courses, and scrimmage time.

The TOCA Technology is slowly introduced as the season progresses.

6-8 Years

  • These classes focus on effort & sportsmanship and are age-appropriately challenging.
  • Fun games are introduced to teach the skills and rules of soccer and real gameplay
  • The TOCA Technology is also used as a tool to develop their game.

For those players in this age range who are ready for a slightly more challenging class, some TOCA Centers offer Strikers Advanced classes. These classes include ball skill progressions, team concepts and scrimmaging during each class. If Strikers Advanced classes are not available, offering group or individual TOCA training sessions may be offered to more developed players.

How long are classes?

Classes are 50 minutes long.

How often are classes?

Each center has a consistent schedule for their Strikers Program. Players will sign up for a season and choose a class schedule that works for them. Oftentimes players are coming in once a week at the same day and time each week.

For example, a 6-8 year old class runs every Tuesday at 4:00-4:50pm.

How much does a Strikers class cost?

  • A player signs up for a season of Strikers Classes. The number of classes in a season varies from center to center.
  • The price for each class is $18*, with payment for the entire season due, in full, before the first class. The only exception to this rule is for the Player trying Strikers for the first time in a Free Class Offering.
  • Players can join Strikers mid-season, depending on availability. The price will be prorated for that guest and they will be charged for the remaining classes in that season.

*The price will vary center to center.

Registration and Refunds

How does registration work for a session?

Our session is offered as a group of classes that have a specific start and end date. Class meets at the same day and time each week with the same instructors.

Can my child sign up for an older class even though they are not yet that age?

We allow for children to participate in an age-up class if it is less than 2 months from their birthday.

They may also switch to an older class mid-season if there is still room if necessary.

Additional Common Topics

Class Offering

Guest: “I would like to sign up my child for the 18-36 month course, when can we come in?”

TOCA: “That is great, we would love to have your family join this course! The course is offered on *have schedule for each offering available (will be different center to center)*. Does this work for you?”

Age Overlap

Guest: “I noticed that you have a class for 3-4 years and another for 4-5 years. My son just turned 4. How do I know which class to sign him up for?”

TOCA: “Will this be his first experience with soccer?”

Guest: “He took a couple soccer classes at the local YMCA this past summer and loved it.”

TOCA: “Then I would recommend the 4-5 year old class. If after a week or two you feel it's too challenging for him, we can always place him in the other class.”

Drop Off

Guest: “I would like to sign my daughter up for the 4 - 5 year old Strikers Class. She turned 5 last month. Do I have to stay?”

TOCA: “Our 4-5 year old class is not a parent participation class. We do, however, require you to stay at the center for the length of the class.”
