General Questions |
What is TOCA Training? |
TOCA Training is technology enabled training sessions led by our highly experienced TOCA Trainers. What makes this training so unique is the use of a smaller ball, the consistent repetitions and game like scenarios. This drives rapid improvements, skill development and results that cannot be matched anywhere else. |
What is unique about the TOCA ball? |
The TOCA Ball is not like any other soccer ball. The TOCA ball was designed to be the perfect size that would both challenge a Player (the concept that a smaller ball forces exaggerated technique and is more difficult to control) but also mimic a regulation size ball in the way it is felt and struck. The smaller size (about a size 2) and lighter weight also means less wear and tear on a player’s body meaning players can train longer with a TOCA ball than they can a regulation size ball. |
What is a Touch Trainer? |
The Touch Trainer is a ball delivery machine that builds a player’s touch with a variety of delivery ball speeds and trajectories delivered at up to 50 mph. The TOCA Trainer controls the speed, interval time and placement of the ball from an app on the iPod. Players get 200-400 touches on the ball, guaranteeing more quality touches in 12 training sessions than they would get playing in 96 games. |
What are Smart Targets? |
Every studio has 4 Smart Targets that connect to the Touch Trainer and create game-like simulations for our players. The lights on the targets are programmed to light up at specific times during each ball delivery to mimic game situations and to track data that displays on the TV screens in the studio. The targets have the ability to represent ‘players’ or ‘goals’ depending on how much of the target is lit up. |
What is the Player Portal? |
The Player Portal, is a TOCA Member exclusive app, allows the player to receive real-time data and review post-training stats. The portal allows the player to track their progression over time. |
What are Player Pathways? |
Player Pathways are a curated set of lessons intended to teach you all aspects of the game, Player Pathways is a progression roadmap to achieving your training goals. Player Pathways are set to design a player’s training journey based on position and skills they want to focus on such as: Core Skills, Foundation, Goal Scoring, Attack Minded, Game Awareness, and Goal Keeping |
What is a Free Kick-Off Session? |
Players who are interested in TOCA Training can take advantage of a complimentary Free Kick-Off (FKO) Session. This is a great way for the Player to experience what TOCA Training can offer them for skill development, and also gives our TOCA Trainers an opportunity to communicate and show what TOCA can do, why it is important and to create a plan for that Player with the Pathways. It can also be a way for the Player to decide if Group Training is where they want to begin. The TOCA Trainer plays a big role in this recommendation as well. |

Who can participate in TOCA Training? |
